Raj Chandra Bose, Indian mathematician and statistician, was born at Hosangabad in Madhya Pradesh. He made many valuable contributions to the subject. He discovered new codes for telecommunication. In 1976, America's highest honour to a scientist came to Bose as he was elected Fellow of the US Academy of Sciences.

12/7/1992	Religious riots swept across India in the wake of the destruction of the ancient Babri Masjid mosque by rampaging Hindu fanatics in the northern Indian town of Ayodhya yesterday. More than 800 people had been killed and hundreds injured as Muslim and Hindu mobs stabbed, shooted and beat each other. The violence had thrown the government into chaos and had spilled into the neighboring states of Pakistan and Bangladesh. The army had been called out to restore order in Bombay, where street battles left 41 dead. The stock market had been closed down and Parliament forced to adjourn. Advani quit as the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha.

10/15/1931	Avil Pakir Jalaluddin Abdul Kalam better known as "APJ", famous Indian scientist, was born in the temple town of Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. He is the pioneer of India's missile programme and was awarded the country's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna, in 1997, for his immense and valuable contribution to scientific research and modernisation of defence technol
