10/6/1983Punjab Government was dismissed to halt religious and political violence by Indira Gandhi, who imposed President's rule in the state.
11/1/1948An Indian brigade group supported by the 7th Cavalry (Stuart tanks) broke through the Great Himalayan Range at Zojila to drive out the invaders from Ladakh district. At approximately 3,500 metres, this was the highest point in the history of warfare that tanks had operated.
12/10/1932The Indian Military Academy (IMA) was formally inaugurated by Field Marshal Sir Philip W Chetwode, Bt, GOB, KCMG, GCSI, DSO and was christened as ""The Pioneers"".
