11/5/1927Lord Irwin, Viceroy of India, met Gandhiji, S.Shriniwas Iyengar and M.A. Ansari Congress leaders at New Delhi.
9/28/1827A few mountain battery trains flourished and kept the Indian component alive as part of the Royal artillery. Recently, it has been established that 8 Company Bombay Artillery survived axing and is now 5 (Bombay) Mountain Battery. This day is now celebrated as the Raising Day of the Regiment of Artillery.
5/1/1996Ban imposed (through a Delhi high court judgment) on the film 'Bandit Queen', based on the life of Phoolan Devi, lifted by Supreme Court.
11/17/1932The Third Round Table Conference began in London. It was not attended by the Congress as the real Indian participation in the making of the constitution was negligible. Since Gandhi was in prison because of his civil disobedience movement he could not attend it either. This conference ended on 24th November 1932 without achieving anything.
