Nrityagram, one of the premier classical dance ensemble from India showcase their new and critically-acclaimed collaborative work SAMHARA with special guest artists from Sri Lanka's celebrated Chitrasena Dance Company complete with live musicians from the two countries.
Weaving together the two dance traditions, Odissi style from India and Kandyan dance from Sri Lanka, yields a unique choreographic work that creates and connects the two cultures in ancient geographic and artistic wholeness. This new work adds a contemporary freshness to a historic theme to make for a compelling performance - powerful yet sensual and lyrical.
