2/16/1932Sibnath Banerjee, trade union movement leader, passed away. He founded several organisation like Congress Socialist Party, A.I.T.U.C. and Hind Mazdoor Sabha, etc.
7/6/1935Dalai Lama, the 14th incarnate and religious leader of Tibet, was born. He was born to Tenzin Gyotso (His Holiness the VIVth Dalai Lama) in Taksten Village, Chhija Nangso, Tibet. He was awarded with Nobel Prize for Peace in 1989.
2/8/1959The Report of the Committee of Parliament constituted under Article 344 (4) of the constitution was submitted to the President.

4/4/1898Hiralal Sen and his brother Motilal Sen purchased a Bioscope Cinematographic Machine from London. The first show of imported films was arranged by them at Classic Theatre on April 4, after which they formed 'The Royal Bioscope Co.,' controlled by H. L. Sen & Bros., 85/2, Maszid Badi Street, Calcutta. The Bioscope Company started touring the provinces of Bengal, Orissa and Bihar.
