Historical Event on 7/11/1957
Aga Sultan Sir Muhammad (1877-1957), Aga Khan III, spritual leader of Ismaeli Muhammedans, passed away. He worked for Britian in the WW I & II. Aga Khan was extremly rich, he once had himself weighed against a sack of diamonds belonging to him. He was also one among those who formed the Muslim League.

1/14/1896	Chintaman Dwarkanath Deshmukh, former Finance Minister of India, was born.
3/21/1966	Indian Remote Sensing Satellite (IRS-P3) placed into polar orbit. This carries remote sensing payload and an X-ray astronomy payload. Launched by third developmental flight of India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-D3) which is for launching 1,000-1,200 kg class of remote sensing satellites into polar sun-synchronous orbit. Still in service.
11/8/1991	K.P.S. Gill reappointed DGP in Punjab.
12/14/1952	Roshan Harshadlal ""Deepak"" Shodhan scored 110 in his Test Cricket debut vs Pakistan in Calcutta.
4/14/1919	Gandhiji confesses at Nadiad his ""Himalayan Miscalculation"" regarding satyagraha martial law declared in Punjab.
5/25/1979	Commercial Unity Day started.
12/9/1989	Shyama Charan Shukla sworn in as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
12/5/1991	The government reduces visa fees for tourists intending to visit India.
2/28/1987	The National Science Day was celebrated for the first time at the ICMR Headquarters and all its Institutes/Centres in February 1987 through exhibitions, lectures, demonstration campaigns etc. (This has now become an annual event).
